What’s the difference between self-hosted and cloud-hosted?
Self-hosted means MunkiSee runs on your own server; your activity data never leaves your infrastructure, and retention is unlimited or custom-configured. It is available on our custom-quoted Enterprise tier. Cloud-hosted means we run it for you, with a hosted dashboard reachable from anywhere; it is included on Core, Standard, and Professional with tiered retention by plan, and also available on Enterprise if you would rather not self-host.
Can I add or remove seats as my fleet changes?
Yes. Add or remove seats at any time and your next invoice is adjusted automatically - no re-signup, no service interruption. If your needs change, moving between Core, Standard, and Professional keeps all of your history intact.
What data does MunkiSee actually collect?
Presence only: active, idle, or offline status and timestamps. No keystrokes, no screenshots, no browsing history. Ever.
Does the free trial include every feature?
The trial runs 14 days with no seat limit, so you can enrol the whole fleet rather than a sample of it. It covers core monitoring: presence, idle detection, and timelines. Single sign-on starts on Standard, and MCP access for AI assistants starts on Professional.
Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?
Yes. Annual billing is prepaid once per year at up to a 10% discount versus monthly, and you can switch when your plan renews. Prefer to keep paying monthly? Commit to a 12-month term and save 5%, still billed monthly rather than prepaid - talk to sales to set it up.
What happens to my data after retention expires?
On plans with a maximum retention period, only detailed timestamps are lost. MunkiSee aggregates total active and idle time up to that point, so you can still report on historical trends. Enterprise retention is custom-configured: unlimited on self-hosted servers, where data lives on your own storage, while cloud-hosted data is never held for more than 5 years on any plan.
