What a seat is

One seat covers one monitored device. A user with a desktop and a laptop uses two seats; a shared kiosk used by twelve people uses one.

Reassigning seats

Retire a device and its seat frees immediately for another. There is no cooldown and no charge to move a seat between devices.

Billing changes

Add or remove seats any time; the next invoice is prorated automatically. Annual terms are prepaid and renew on their anniversary.

Cloud subscription licence

Core, Standard, and Professional are subscriptions to the hosted service. Your organisation gets a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install the agent on the number of devices you pay for and to access the portal for as long as the subscription is current.

Cancel any time; access ends at the close of the paid period. Export your data before then — retention rules apply from the cancellation date.

Self-hosted term licence

Enterprise self-hosting is a term licence, quoted per year and keyed to a seat ceiling. The key activates your instance and permits unlimited internal use up to that ceiling.

Your server checks in with our licensing service periodically to confirm the licence and report a seat count. That exchange is the only thing a self-hosted install sends us — never your activity data. It needs outbound HTTPS to api.munkisee.com; if your network restricts egress, allow that host or ask us for an offline build.

If a term lapses — or the server cannot reach us for seven consecutive days — the instance drops to read-only. Every dashboard, report and export keeps working on the history you already have, and only the recording of new activity stops. Agents carry on buffering locally and back-fill once the licence is current again, so a renewal in progress or a short outage costs you nothing.

Disconnected and air-gapped sites

Sites that cannot reach the internet at all are served by an offline build, issued per customer on request. We compile it against your licence, hand it over directly, and it runs without ever checking in.

Each offline build is cryptographically stamped with the organisation it was issued to, so a copy that leaves your estate is traceable back to the handover it came from. That stamp is what grants the build its exemption, and it cannot be removed without the server reverting to ordinary online activation. Offline builds are not downloadable and are not a self-service option — talk to sales.

Managed service providers

MSPs licence seats in aggregate across all client tenants and manage every environment from one portal. Tenant data is isolated, and per-client billing summaries are available for rebilling.

Restrictions

You may not resell, sublicence, or host MunkiSee as a service for third parties without an MSP or OEM agreement, and you may not reverse-engineer or redistribute the agent. Monitoring devices you do not own or administer is a breach of these terms.

Third-party components

MunkiSee includes open-source components under permissive licences. A full attribution manifest is available on request.
